Packing Advice

Take the widely known advice “When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money.” and just bring with you what you really need and can‘t get at your destination.

The most important thing when packing for a trip is: NEVER take too much stuff with you! When you have to carry it around, you’ll soon curse yourself for being such a fool. A good weight for your gib bag is around 10-12 kg. So what you need is an idea of what you really need. And here is the list a lot of you have been asking for – my packing list:

Clothes

– 2 x leggins / pants
– 2 x shorts
– 8 shirts + 1 longsleeve
– 5 dresses / jumpsuits
– 1 pair of thermal underwear
– 4 pairs of socks
– 20 x underwear + 2 bras
– bikini / bathing suit
– lightweight jacket
– rain jacket
– pyjamas
– hat + buff + gloves

Shoes

– sneakers or hiking shoes (lightweight)
– ballerinas or sandals
– flip flops
– water shoes or socks

Tech Gadgets

– phone + charger
– powerbank
– headphones
– gopro
– camera + charger
– adaptor
(- bluetooth keyboard)

Other Things

– documents (passport, vaccination card, insurance)
– wallet (credit cards, dollars in cash, ID, driver’s licence)
– sunglasses
– laundry bag + waterproof bag
– 2 locks (1 for bag, 1 for locker)
– sleeping mask + travel pillow
– LED head torch
– pocket knive + pepper spray
